Birth preparation without hocus pocus.
We attended a birth preparation session as part of our course with a private midwife at Jordemoderhuset. Admittedly, I or we were both a little skeptical about a "7-hour show", and were both probably a little scared by what we had seen on TV - but we were put to shame!
We started by meeting in a cozy little clinic with snacks, croissants, and a generally good and welcoming atmosphere.
Birgitte, who taught us, was a star and got around to everything we, as a couple, needed, even though we were 5 couples in total.

We could ask questions and make comments along the way, and both mothers' and fathers' concerns were addressed, so there was room for everyone. The next part of the course was 2 hours of practical exercises with breathing, contraction control, birth positions, etc., which was also really good - and the teacher (Ida) really cut to the chase, so that we only got the necessary information about exercises, breathing, etc., and not an overload of information.
Most importantly, we both felt much better equipped to handle the birth (regardless of vaginal or CS), and we both feel that we have filled our toolbox with tools to deal with worries and "pressured" situations that can arise both before and during the birth.
PS: We have already canceled the public birth preparation.

I am very happy with my experience at Jordemoderhuset. I have had fertility acupuncture, which has been good for both my body and mind, and also led to getting pregnant. So I also went for an early scan with them in week 8 of my pregnancy. Unfortunately, the midwife who scanned us had to tell us that there was nothing to see in my uterus, and that she therefore had to encourage us to be examined for an ectopic pregnancy, which she did in a calm and really loving way. When we came out, the receptionist offered to contact the hospital for further examinations, which was a huge help in a difficult situation. So that is a big recommendation from me.

I highly recommend Jordemoderhuset. Rikke has been a fantastic midwife. She has recommended maturation acupuncture and acupuncture for fluid in the body, as it has bothered me a lot in the third trimester. It has been such a lovely, relaxing, and good experience every single time.

Rikke has always welcomed me with a smile and high spirits. In addition, she has measured my blood pressure, felt my stomach, and estimated the baby's size from time to time. In addition, I have also had a pregnancy massage, which was super nice and relaxing to receive at the end of my pregnancy. My warmest recommendations to Jordemoderhuset. If you are pregnant, there is always a safe, welcoming atmosphere; the staff have always welcomed me with calm, positive energy. I will definitely choose them for my next pregnancy!

I had my membranes swept by Lea on Friday, and I just wanted to say thank you for a good, safe, and effective treatment - I had mild contractions in the evening, my water broke at 00.45, and my son arrived at 08.48 🙂
As a first-time mother, the treatments with you have given me so much peace and security in these weeks when I was going through it, and I definitely feel that the treatments+conversations with you have given me the peace that my body has needed to get going naturally. So I just wanted to say thank you! You have my best recommendations, and I will definitely come back if it is necessary another time 🙂

It was a fantastic experience from the moment we walked in the door - you always get a warm welcome. You are in the hands of friendly, competent midwives who help you celebrate your pregnancy and give you peace of mind. In addition, we were also in birth preparation - it was fun and educational to meet other mothers, and the yoga part was also fantastic for the body. In addition, I tried acupuncture, which was the wildest thing I have ever tried. I have never felt more relaxed in my swollen and sore corpus. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

A lovely place to prepare for birth. They are nice and caring, and the combination of first yoga and then midwifery lesson worked really well for me. I felt my body first, and then my head was ready to take in information. Warmest recommendation from here.

Thank you so much for the great online birth preparation we had. Now, little baby Frida has come into the world, so as promised, we will send you an update.

The birth went really well, and we were surrounded by only good people in Herlev. My water broke at 5 am, and Frida was out at 6:14 pm on February 18. We came to check up at Herlev at 8 am and were then sent home again. When the contractions had started to get better at home, we came back to the hospital at 2:30 pm, and everything went quickly from there. So quickly that Daniella didn't get an enema or painkillers, apart from nitrous oxide. Despite that, she did really well and got a lot of praise from the midwives.

At 6:14 pm, a nice big girl was born weighing 3905 grams and 51 cm. She breastfed right away, and everything has gone super well with her since then. She is tough and strong.

We were hospitalized for 3 days when Daniella had a 3rd degree tear. 3B, they called it. Then we came home, and everything has gone really well since then.

Thank you so much for the good preparation, once again. A large part of our calm and preparation came from the conversation with you. It prepared us well.

All the best to you and yours. We have generally been really happy to come to you 3 times. We will definitely come again if another baby comes.

Dear A-team Thank you very much for your help, optimism, and really high level of service and quality 👏🏼
I have no doubt for a second that your expert hands on my body (maturation acupuncture and membrane sweep) have really started the maturation and the subsequent birth. Therefore, please say hello to Alberte. 4560 grams and 55 long. It ended in 14 hours of hard labor, either because she was stargazing or simply had difficulty penetrating all the way down into my pelvis due to her fine size ❤️
We are all doing well after a natural birth and are just enjoying our new life.

With our daughter from 2018, we came to you for an early scan. We felt in such safe hands and then chose to have the nuchal translucency scan performed with you as well. Then a reassurance interview with midwife Emilie, and a good pregnancy massage. With our son from 2020, we also had an early scan and a reassurance scan later. Now, with our 3rd child, for geographical reasons, we had to have an early scan done in Kolding. Disappointing experience.

After that, my husband said that he missed Jordemoderhuset! I could only agree with him. That's why we chose to have the nuchal translucency scan of our 3rd child done with you between Christmas and New Year, and it was simply like coming home. It was so safe and wonderful, and we were SO grateful that we made the trip, that you had the time and energy as you always do! And that we spent the money on it. The warmest recommendations from here. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I went to body therapy with Louise to get ready for the birth of our 3rd child. The next day I went to the hospital and asked them to loosen the membranes (I had elevated liver and kidney counts and should have been induced at the latest). Unfortunately, it didn't start the labor, but two midwifery students were on hand, and since it was perfect for an uncomplicated third birth for them, they asked if they should give me a delivery room and break my water. I was completely on board with that. An hour and a half after they broke my water and 2 minutes after pushing began, little Krusemynte came out. So we managed to get her out before big sister's birthday. A big thank you to Louise for her help.

Thank you so much to you and especially sweet Julie, who gave me acupuncture, amniocentesis, and helped to get my daughter deep into my pelvis until my induction last week. With her help, I was already 3 cm dilated before the induction, so the midwife could just break my water – 4 hours later, I had given birth easily and quickly. I spent most of my birth doing figure 8s on a ball, which Julie had taught me.

First of all, thank you very much for a really good birth preparation course. I have tried to turn off Google from the beginning, and with you, I experienced peace while feeling prepared for the birth. I think it worked really well with the mix of yoga/mindfulness and theory, as well as the review of the different phases. We were registered for a home birth, and your course made me feel well prepared and confident that we had made the right choice for us.

We are SO glad we took this course! The content is super relevant and concrete. It works really well with a practical exercise section and a more in-depth section that reviews the entire birth and what happens afterwards. When our water broke just a week after we had the course, we were completely calm, even though we were only 35+1, because we knew what we had to do. The practical exercises helped us through the different phases, and the birth ended well, with our little, new, healthy girl being born. We recommend the course to other future parents we know.

Lea has been with us on a fantastic journey My husband and I have been on a private course with midwife Lea Toft from Jordemoderhuset, and Lea has been with us on a fantastic journey.
I was an older first-time mother, and our choice of Jordemoderhuset was originally based on its flexibility. We both wanted to participate in the consultations, and at Jordemoderhuset, we were able to find times that fit our daily schedules. Due to the flexible opening hours and competent midwife team, we also chose to have the scans that are normally done in public (the nuchal scan in week 12 and the malformation scan in week 20) at Jordemoderhuset.
At the time of writing, it has been a few months since the birth, and in retrospect, the flexibility is actually the least of the many advantages of choosing a private course. The most important thing for us has been the great degree of security throughout, where we could call Lea almost day and night. Lea showed us a very special degree of care and empathy when it became clear that the birth would be complicated. Lea was the permanent link in the dialogue with the birth center; she participated in some difficult conversations with the hospital, talked everything through thoroughly with us afterwards, and visited us during the hospitalization, armed with lots of encouraging words and practical advice.

In a hospital world where staff are busy and run fast, I am deeply grateful to Lea, who had the time and energy to help us through our first difficult time. Lea is very responsible and feels a great sense of responsibility towards her birth, and we have a lot of trust in her on both a midwifery and a human level. Today, we think back on the birth as the good experience it ended up being, and we think of Lea as a warm friend of our little family.
